biking and meditation
I don't know what I would've done over the last couple of years without my bike and/or meditation. I try to pull something out of most moments, significant or other wise. My preferred bike trails have inclines. I've struggled with gears, endurance and quad strength. I started off walking my bike up plenty-a-hill. I challenged myself each time to get further and further up the hills. I changed the gear and pedaled harder BUT the progression was slight. Then one day I said to myself, "instead of focusing on the last accomplishment, I'd focus on now." Like meditation, focus on the present. Be in the present. So I began to look immediately in front of me or at my knees (the now) instead of where I marked the previous trip. Now, before I know it, I'm sitting on top of the hill.
